Day 57 the PKD Road Warriors are still in Malibu having gone past our 1 month planned stay.

On Monday I followed up with CBS and LA Times in hopes of getting something in large LA market before we had to leave. CBS never returned calls but the nice reporter at the LA Times that was disappointed she could not do my story, previously, phoned and is still trying to help the PKD public awareness cause. She is trying to help me get story in another paper that has syndicates around USA, which would be great! There are no promises but thanks to her efforts we may yet get some print media for PKD!

Pepperdine University's TV station came "knocking on the door" and surprised me asking for an interview! They are the "local Malibu, CA TV station" so may help us locate our "celebrity spokesperson" and regardless we can reach more PKD patients. They also took my Public Service Announcement 30 second commercial and will air it once a week after I leave so thanks Pepperdine!

Went and got Easy Rider magazine and saw there was no story which may be a good thing. From the looks of the magazine most of the women did not have clothes on... and I will only go so far for public awareness of PKD. Ha! My clothes must stay on!

Have gotten numerous e-mails off the recent Friction Zone motorcycle magazine article. One was very touching so I copied Friction Zone on it and they asked permission to print it! More PKD awareness if they do….

Other than the above media the past week was interesting. Went to watch the sunset and get a bite at the Pierview Restaurant, on the ocean. Met 2 really nice couples and one of them was the motorcycle daredevil, Evil Kaneivel's {not sure how to spell} son. I asked him if he would "jump the Grand Canyon" to raise money for PKD. Hey had to ask anyway... He was a really nice person as were his friends. They got a kick out of the fact I carry my Honda Rebel motorcycle on a rack off my Nissan's bumper! I had to valet park that day and the valet almost smashed my motorcycle rack into a Porsche! Close call but I stopped him before it happened!

Next, Max and I were walking at the local park and a man was outside his SUV with the rear door open. Max is social and loves to visit anyone outside his or her RV or cars. As usual he drug me up to the man to get petted or fed... The man was kind and gave him his "pet" and did not get mad when Max put his paws on the rear looking in for food and to say hi to his children. We talked to the man for a few minutes and said our good bye. The funny part of the story was that the man was the actor Gary Busey and he was there with his children for a soccer game! Leave it to Max and he will find our celebrity spokesperson!

The weather here was nice this week so we took advantage and relaxed on the beach a little when we were not working on gaining media attention. Max and I will be a little sad to leave Malibu and our new friends we met - Sean, Jeff & John. They made our stay more fun when hanging out with them. We hope to see them again sometime but know that we must continue on.

Rains have come to sunny California so we are staying a few more days so we don't have to drive this big RV through Los Angeles on slick roads. My birthday is Dec. 16th and my friend Melanie in San Diego is planning a party for me so we are excited about getting to San Diego. In addition to pitching the San Diego media we have several friends there which means Max and I won't be alone for Christmas since we are far away from family. Makes the holiday better to know I will be amongst friends. Hope all of you are happy during this holiday season too.
